Throughout the school year there are many programs provided by your PTA. These could not happen without the help of parent volunteers. All committees need a chairperson to coordinate committee activities as well as dedicated committee members. Please consider chairing a committee or co-chairing with a friend. Make this a memorable year for all!
Arts in Education/Arts Fundraiser: Enhance classroom learning by scheduling/planning programs and visitors that promote fine arts. These activities are primarily coordinated through phone and e-mail contact. One assembly is planned per grade level each year

Box Tops/Labels for Education: Coordinate the collection and processing of Box Tops and Campbell’s Labels for Education. Work closely with our Media Center and Physical Education teachers to promote collection times. Plan 3-5 Box Tops Hat Days during the year

Diversity: Celebrate Taylor’s diversity of culture and heritage in our families. Coordinate an international culture event such as Parade of Nations/International Night. Translate documents into languages dominant at our school. Plan activities that coincide with monthly awareness.

Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful: Work with faculty, administration and staff on ways to implement or sustain environmentally sound practices throughout the school building through programs such as recycling efforts and the Anti-Idling Program.
Exceptional Children: Help promote and support the needs of the physically and mentally challenged students as well as challenge and encourage the gifted students of Taylor. Planning takes place in the fall for the one week celebration in January/February time frame

Family Fun: Help coordinate family social activities such as Bingo Night, Fall Festival/Movie Night, Father Daughter Dance and a Mother/Son event.
Fifth Grade Events: Help coordinate with the assistant principal and the 5th grade teachers the end of the year fifth grade events celebration as well as design and ordering of the fifth grade class t-shirts and ceremony awards.

Fund Raising: Be a part of the team responsible for the fall fund raising campaign. This fundraiser provides the monies used to support a years’ worth of school wide programs and activities. Committee Chair should be available during the fundraising period which is usually 2 weeks

Legislative: Attend PTA Advocacy Day and PTA Day at the Capitol to learn about the latest relative political issues affecting children and education. Share highlights from events as well as other relevant political issues that may come up throughout the year with Taylor parents.

Literacy: Promote reading improvement through incentives for students and resources for adult literacy. Also coordinate the Annual Used Book Sale to raise money for the Media Center and Read Across America Day.

Male Involvement/All Pro Dad: Promote and encourage dads to be involved in their child’s education through programs such as All Pro Dads, reading to classrooms or volunteering in the school.

Membership: Promote 100% membership in Taylor PTA through Membership Registration Tables and school-wide membership drive. Committee Chair is responsible for keeping track of membership purchases and submitting membership totals to GA PTA each month. Committee members are requested to assist with classroom celebrations.

Outdoor Classroom: Promote use of the outdoor areas of Taylor for teacher and student use in projects that correlate with AKS Science objectives.
Reflections: The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme. The Reflections committee will promote the program and coordinate student entries and judging for the annual competition. Chair is requested to be available for communicating the program, collecting entries, submitting to the council, and hosting the awards ceremony. Workshops and training are available.

Santa Breakfast: One of the most popular events at Taylor, a special breakfast and visit by Santa held on a Saturday in the month of December. Coordinate activities for this program.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation: Celebrate the teachers and staff of Taylor through special events, recognitions and luncheons. PTA sponsors 3 events per year: Back to school luncheon, mid year luncheon, and Teacher Appreciation Day in May.

Yearbook: Work with the yearbook vendor to determine layout and design of the school yearbook.
